The Chilkat ActiveX components are now available in digitally
signed .cab files for easy embedding within HTML via the OBJECT tag.
This allows the components to be used in client-side Javascript.

The Chilkat ActiveX components are packaged in digitally
signed .cab files to ensure integrity and authenticity.

Most Chilkat components are commercially licensed (i.e. not
free).
However, when running within a browser the
fully-functional trial period never expires.
A
Javascript program still needs to call UnlockComponent, but it may
pass an arbitrary string. In effect, the Chilkat ActiveX
components are freeware when running within a browser.

The ActiveX components can only be embedded within browsers
that support ActiveX, such as Internet Explorer.
